Alinea Customs Foundational Training in UK Customs Compliance Course provides insight into customs law and practical experience in submitting a CDS import or export entry.

The training can either take place in-person through professional tuition being delivered over the course of two intensive days of training, or self-paced over the course of three months and fourteen modules. All candidates will receive a CPD accredited certificate upon completion.

The course will prepare you with a lexicon of customs knowledge in customs valuation, tariff classification and rules of origin. Moreover, you will gain understanding of HMRC’s CDS system and the underlying structure of codification, so that you will be able to both submit a customs declaration and interpre a customs declaration effectively.

Explore the Union Customs Code, World Customs Organisation (WCO) frameworks, and trade agreements such as the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA).

Customs Valuation and Tariff Classification

Learn how to accurately apply the customs valuation methodology 1 – 6, and gain insight into the UK’s integrated global tariff nomenclature.

Rules of Origin and Customs Procedures

Understand free trade agreements, preferential tariffs, and practical applications for inward/outward processing, temporary admission, and re-export processes.

Completing Import and Export Declarations

Hands-on training to complete customs declarations for CDS, including guidance on the required documentation and client data collection.

Customs and Border Administration
